Drone Photography and videography

I learned a valuable lesson this day.  Wanted to get some blue light pictures as the sun was setting with the cool cloud formations we were having that evening.  Still bright enough to see my drone, but dark enough for my drone sensors to not avoid a flag pole in center field.  A mistake I plan on never making again.

One of my first practice runs with the drone was at Tucci Stadium, home of the Illinois Wesleyan Titans.  This stadium was built 117 years ago making it the fifth oldest stadium in NCAA. The history remains in tact with the beautiful bricks on the building.  Unfortunately I had connection issues about 30 minutes into shooting, and was cut off short from getting some other exterior shots.  Maybe one day I will go do it again and try to show myself up.

This was quite literally the first time I ever flew the drone.  I wasn't thinking about composition or lighting or anything photography related.  I was just trying to learn the ins and the outs of the drone.  I decided to hit record a few times and see what the camera could do and test what it was like to move the camera and I ended up capturing some pretty decent video.  Its in no way perfect, but I won't lie and say I wasn't surprised by how good my first video came out, when I wasn't even trying!
